Granada Doaba brings traditional Andalusian music and modern electronic beats for an exciting fusion of flamenco, hip-hop and Middle Eastern roots. Granada Doaba’s deep rhythm section bounces between South America and North Africa, with a crew of hand percussionists jamming along with live qanun, oud, harmonium and flamenco guitar. Featuring soaring female vocals and old-school rapping, Granada Doaba sings for a new global party rooted in the past and dancing towards the future.
Granada Doaba’s live band features Daniel Eshoo [oud & qanun, pictured above], Raymond Powers [harmonium & flute], Teddy Jack [bass], Sean Dwyer [cajón & flamenco guitar], and hand percussionists Judy Piazza + Rod Martinez

We’re opening up for Rupa & the April Fishes, a San Francisco band that creates music that busts through boundaries of musical genre, language and time. Their rousing and intimate performances have earned them comparisons as encompassing as Lhasa to Gogol Bordello and Beirut to Manu Chao. Drawing from her nomadic childhood in India, France and the US as well as her work as a physician in San Francisco, Rupa’s songs explore a wide swath of human experience in a multitude of languages drawing upon inspiration from songs from the streets around the world arranged for cello, accordion, trumpet, upright bass, drums and guitar.
